Vintage Novelty Gathered Skirt. 1950s. Japanese. Geisha. Fuji....

Description

Lovely Japanese themed scenic border print skirt. Geishas on a river boat with cranes, Mt fuji in the background and a sea of chrysanthemums!. My best dating guess by color scheme is late 50s, early 60s.
Excellent condition. It has been gently washed but it feels like new.  Buttonholes are not worn, zipper goes up well. Pic shows one small area where previous owner added hand sewn stitches to catch the inside of the waistband that the machine stitches missed.
Measurements in inches:
Waist: 11.5" wide, fastened, taken flat: (23" circumference)
Hem circumference: 105".
Waist band length: 2".
Skirt body length: 26.25".
Extra hem: 2". One fold only, as they used the selvage.  Last pic shows the hem line fold. Its not faded, so might not show if extended.
There is about 1/2"  additional that buttons could be moved to end of waist band,  and zip has 3/8" excess fabric on each side.
