  • Condition: The album itself has exterior tears and wear but contents inside are generally in rather good condition. The photos show a representative sampling (some are discolored with age). Description

There are approximately 60 pages here, each usually containing one program and sometimes related illustrations  (Pages have been numbered in pencil but not all are present.)  I would estimate that nearly half of the 60 or so performances are operas, the remainder theatrical plays.  Nearly all are from Philadelphia venues (a few look like Atlantic City).  Most operas are little-known today, but the programs include popular operas such as Lohengrin, Carmen and Lucia di Lamermoor, among others.  Operatic performances were usually by the Castle Square Opera Company.  Includes Joseph Jefferson as Rip van Winkle, also Julia Marlowe.  The book measures about 7" x 8 1/4".  Let me know if I can provide any additional information on this item.
