This is a rare November 17th, 1930 Charity Souvenir Program from the First Amateur production of the VINCENT YOUMANS, FRANK MANDEL, OTTO HARBACH and IRVING CAESAR musical comedy hit "NO, NO, NANETTE" at the Grand Theatre in Leeds, England. (The Original West End production opened March 11th, 1925 at the Palace Theatre in London where it ran for 665 performances.) ..... This one-week engagement aided Leeds Medical Charities and was presented with the distinguished patronage of Her Royal Highness PRINCESS MARY, LORD HAREWOOD and the Dowager COUNTESS of HAREWOOD. The musical starred LILY HOBSON in the title role, HARRY SILLERS as "Jimmy Smith", RUBY WIGODER (Mother of actress Thelma Ruby) as "Lucille", GEORGE FARNDALE as "Billy Early", MILLIE HODGSON as "Sue" and TOM HANNAM as "Tom" and included CECILY TAYLOR, DOROTHY REEKIE, MAY HICK and MARY RICHARDSON .... DETAILS: The oversized 56 page program measures 7 1/2" X 10" inches and includes beautiful cover graphics, fullproduction credits, cast list, scenes, list of musical numbers, individual photos of each of the leading actors, several production photos, wonderful vintage advertising and extensive text on the charity and patrons. The interior pages are bound by the original cord ..... CONDITION: With the exception of the start of a split at the top seam, a small tear to the cover, light soiling to the cover and moderate edge wear, this rare program is in excellent condition and will make a wonderful addition to the collection of any musical theatre aficionado or historian. This item will be carefully packaged in a protective sleeve and backed by stiff cardboard.
