Description
Rare antique 1936 JOHN DEERE "Unstyled Model A" Farm Tractor. One (1) of 18,126 built in 1936 in Waterloo, Iowa. Serial No 441326. Hard to find on east coast. This Model A was the first John Deere farm tractor with adjustable wheel treads, first true row-crop tractor and first to come from factory with rubber tires. Manual flywheel start. 5.1L-2 cyl-4 valve 25HP engine. Weighs approx 3800 lbs. and is 10' 4" long, 7' 8" wide, 7' 4" high to top of smokestack & intake)--measurements are approximate. Two wheel drive, manual steering, differential mechanical expanding shoe brakes. PTO works. Has original steel pan seat & curved hitch.Purchased and restored in 1980's. Was re-painted and decaled approx 8-10 years ago and stored in a barn. Did new points rebuild on magneto and re-built carburetor, replaced gaskets etc about a year ago and tractor has been sitting since. It's in good working condition and runs and drives good. (I tried to post a video of it running, but can't seem to get it uploaded on here). Tires are ok (one rear tire looks new). Needs some TLC and someone to love it as much as I have.
