Up for bidding: An absolutely stunning Vintage 18k Yellow Gold and Enamel Dragonfly Pin! Likely created in the 1920s or 30s, this Art Nouveau piece was masterfully created utilizing Plique-à-jour enamel artistry that is simply breathtaking. A technique that loosely translates to "light of day," it applies to delicate translucent enamel that is skillfully applied within cells found in intricate designs. This is universally considered the most beautiful and the most difficult of enamel techniques.  When illuminated from the reverse, the vibrant Chartreuse Green Enamel almost glows, transformed, and blends beautifully with various tones before reaching the Sky Blue Gossamer on the outmost tips of the wings.  The smooth shift of color and the diaphanous appearance echoes that which could previously only be found in nature. 18k Yellow Gold detailing - transformed in hue by Sterling Silver - plays along the length of each wing and is adorned with Round Brilliant Cut Diamonds that glint brilliantly in the light.   Virtually anatomically correct, this Sterling Silver Overlay encrusted with Diamonds continues down the center of the Insect in graduating sizes to form the appearance of a true Segmented Abdomen, while bright 18k Yellow Gold construct six seemingly jointed legs.  To finish off the piece, two deep Red Round Cabochon Rubies contrast with the cool tones of the wings to create eyes that appear almost lifelike.  Popular during this era, a Trombone clasp holds the pin in place and is stamped with a "750."  Don't let this Pin flutter away, be sure to bid today!
